Casa Alta Royal Lodge is a former royal lodge located in the Castle of Ourem just 12 minutes by car from the famous Fatima Shrine. Unsurpassed in the region for its comfort, decoration, intimacy, attention to detail and service, guests enjoy the best of two worlds... access to the famous pilgrimage site, and at the same time, peace and quiet away from all the crowds and commercialization.

There are only two rooms, each with a private bathroom, wood-burning fireplaces, embroidered sheets and superior duvets, antiques, fresh flowers, complimentary artesian water, robes and slippers. A full English-style breakfast is included. Hand-finished laundry is available at a nominal charge.

Daily chapel services are offered to include the Divine Office, private exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Masses, confessions, devotions and retreats. Your host, Fr. Guilbert Mariani, Chaplain to the Royal House of Portugal, restored Casa Alta to its original ambiance, recapturing its first purpose to provide an elegant, intimate oasis of peace and reflection for pilgrims and casual travellers alike. Whether you are passing through or staying longer, Casa Alta Royal Lodge is open to all creeds or none, and is truly one of the treasures in Portugal.
