Upon application in advance of your stay, arrangements can be made for airport pick up and for private touring with the renowned Fatima author, Baron Lumiar. Not only the Shrine, but other fascinating sites such as the Royal Monasteries of Alcobaca, Batalha, Mafra, and Tomar comprise some of the richest religious and cultural locations open for view in the immediate area. Baron Lumiar is a knowledgeable and entertaining treasure of his own, and a trip with him is possible beyond the area to the outstanding sites of the Church of the Holy Eucharistic Miracle in Santarem, Coimbra, the ancient university town, Braga, the mountainside devotional stairs of Bom Jesus and medieval cathedral, Nazare, the fishing village that hosts a remarkable basilica, and even Santiago de Compostella.

Fr. Mariani welcomes guests, if they wish, to participate in any or all of the daily religious exercises at Casa Alta Royal Lodge. However this is not imposed on anyone. He is always available, 24 hours a day, to anyone seeking guidance, or those who could just use a sympathetic ear. Fr. Mariani is especially helpful to those who have recently lost a loved one.
